How to Choose Your Edge Profile

The right edge is part visual, part practical. Here's a simple framework to help you decide.

Match your kitchen style

Contemporary spaces love Eased and Bevel. Traditional kitchens shine with Ogee and Bullnose. Rustic designs benefit from Chiseled.

Think about safety

If you have young children, Full Bullnose or Demi Bullnose eliminates sharp corners without compromising elegance.

Consider your budget

Standard edges are included at no cost. Premium edges carry a modest upgrade fee — ask during your free estimate for exact pricing.

Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know before choosing your countertop edge.

Three standard edges are included at no extra charge: Standard Eased, 1/4 Top Round, and 1/4 Bevel. These profiles work beautifully with both modern and transitional kitchen styles and are our most commonly selected options.
The Standard Eased Edge is our most requested profile by far. It has a clean, flat top with a very slightly softened bottom corner — making it versatile for any kitchen style, from contemporary to transitional. It also tends to make thinner slabs appear thicker and more substantial.
We recommend the Full Bullnose or Demi Bullnose for households with children. These fully rounded edges eliminate sharp corners, reducing the risk of injury while still looking polished and refined. The 1/4 Top Round is also a softer alternative among the standard included options.
All three are ornate curved profiles. The Ogee is the classic "S" curve — traditional and elegant. The Cove Ogee adds a deeper concave scoop before the curve, making it more dramatic and decorative. The Dupont features a sharp vertical drop into the curve, giving it a more contemporary architectural edge compared to the other two.
Standard edges (Eased, 1/4 Top Round, 1/4 Bevel) are included in your countertop price at no extra cost. Premium edges such as Bullnose, Ogee, Dupont, Waterfall, and Chiseled carry a modest upgrade fee based on linear footage. Your design consultant will include exact edge pricing in your free, all-inclusive estimate — no surprises.
Absolutely — and we strongly encourage it. Our showroom at 14805 Willard Rd, Suite G, Chantilly, VA displays physical edge profile samples alongside our full slab collection. Photographs rarely capture the actual depth, texture, and light-catching qualities of each profile. Feeling them in person takes just a few minutes and makes the decision much easier.
Quartz pairs beautifully with almost any edge. For sleek, modern quartz designs, Eased and Bevel profiles are ideal. For warmer, more textured quartz, a Demi Bullnose or Ogee adds elegance. Because quartz has a very consistent pattern, detailed edges like Ogee and Dupont tend to show off the polished surface especially well.
